Yes, you’re funding the drag queen indoctrination
Drag queens are desperate to get in front of children and read books to them. But who is funding all of this? Sadly, it's you.
On the 2nd June 2023, NZ On Air announced this
NZ On Air is investing $8.5m in six captivating new series specifically designed to engage our youngest viewers, both locally and internationally…
The stories selected are firmly rooted in Aotearoa, bringing to life unique stories in the accents and languages familiar to us. NZ On Air’s Head of Funding Amie Mills says the agency’s new Children’s content strategy recognises that children access content on many different platforms.
“Having distribution deals that will see content appearing on platforms far and wide means there’s a greater chance of our tamariki finding and connecting with these beautiful, imaginative stories,” she says.
Now there’s some funding for Red Rocks, is a live action drama based on an award-winning novel by Rachael King. Twelve-year-old Jake is in a struggle to protect his family from danger after being drawn into a world of mythical creatures and adventure when he finds a sealskin hidden on the rocky shores of Wellington. In Black Sand Beach four courageous kids unravel spine-chilling mysteries involving monsters, ghouls, and supernatural thrills. Another book-based project supported in this round is Māui and Elvis – How I Alienated my Nan, for Prime/Sky, YouTube. The live-action drama stars best friends and neighbours Māui and Elvis, who discover an alien device and accidently blast Māui’s beloved nan with it, causing an alien hell-bent on destruction to take up residence in her body. It’s based on two books penned by Wellington author Suzanne Mains. And a few others…
But then we come to this
…Fabulous fables told through the medium of drag will bring some razzle dazzle to screens in Mr. Hugo’s Little Library, for TVNZ+ and RNZ. Featuring larger-than-life fables, legendary performances, and original songs, Mr Hugo’s Little Library is Aotearoa New Zealand’s first ever kids’ show by drag performers. Helmed by George Fowler (AKA Hugo Grrrl), it centres on an eccentric library custodian who has retreated into a fantasy world of books.
How much funding? For 8 x 12minute episodes of drag queen indoctrination of children, your hard earned tax money is paying $596,849. Yes - $600k.
But it didn’t stop there.
In November last year (three months ago) more funding.
Suzy Cato gets some for a podcast. Comedian Josh Thompson. Pacifka singing and dancing, and a pre-school animation series for Rarotongans, Tongans and Samoans.
And then…
Children’s imaginations will be sparked by the return of a number of favourites, and a new series Mr Hugo’s Little Library which invites children into a joyous world of wonder. In this musical world of larger-than-life fables delivered by larger-than-life characters, the magic of books and stories are at the forefront along with lessons about acceptance and being your best self.
How much funding this time?
For another 8 episodes x 12 mins, $1,118,603. $1.1 million. On top of the previous $600k.
So $1.7 million to indoctrinate your children with this. Let me remind you just who Hugo Grrrl is – and this material is easy to find for inquisitive children who want to know more about “Mr Hugo’s little library” and his joyous world of perversion – sorry, wonder.
Pretty blatant about what and who he is. Hugo Grrrl creates “smutty, rough around the edges” theatre.
Yep – this looks like the perfect role model for your children.
Oh and mocking the church.
But the media love this stuff – which is why, when they were covering the protest by Destiny Church a couple of weekends back – whatever your view of that protest, the media never asked the question – why do Drag Queens want to target children in libraries. And why do they never go to old folks homes as regularly to read books? And is this the appropriate role model for children.
Actually I’ll come back to that one in a minute.
Back in 2020, TVNZ’s Breakfast interviewed two drag queens in an attempt to publicise and promote their tour around the country. In libraries. So funded by your rates. Funded by you.
This is who they are – and as you’ll notice, they’re reading to sell-out audiences – NOT
So on Breakfast on TVNZ Interviewer Matty McLean was very excited by all of this and it was literally a puff piece for the concept. Let’s have a watch because there’s a couple of really revealing statements made. Yeah, Im sorry you have to watch Breakfast – but for the purposes of research and revealing what’s really going on, it’s worth it. I won’t show all of it, you’ll be glad to hear. This is Erika and CoCo Flash with an excited Matty McLean.
By the way, you’ve been funding these two also.

Ah! So the drag queens reading in libraries were specifically imported from the US. The opposition isn’t the imported part as we were told.
Let’s continue
VIDEO
Whoops - said another quiet bit out loud. It’s not anti bullying. It’s rainbow stories. LGBT.
Well, we already knew that.
And then this bit. And once again we find out the real agenda of what they’re doing. It’s very revealing.
Finally, here’s the drag queen concerned. Apparently there’s nothing sexual about it. it’s just a dress up.
VIDEO
This indoctrination is also happening in schools with Pride Week two years ago
Yes a drag panel “school them” during pride week, where the panel tackles everything from beginner tips and tricks to inspiration and community. For young people!
But the media love this – and it’s why NZ On Air want to fund it – and indoctrinate it
In the middle of last year, once again, state broadcaster TVNZ’s Seven Sharp weren’t happy that drag queens aren’t allowed to read LGBT books to children so they did some campaigning. It wasn’t what they showed that was the problem. It’s what they conveniently didn’t show – but we will.
The segment on Seven Sharp was entitled “Hilary Barry Uncovers: How Online Hate Ruined Rainbow Story Time”
Local councils in Rotorua, Hastings and Upper Hutt have been forced to cancel Rainbow story time events for children because of a nasty backlash online. One of the performers Willy Smack 'n Tush spoke to Hilary Barry about the experience.
Now remember – there is nothing sexual about the name Willy Smack 'n Tush. Nope nothing at all. Willy Smack 'n Tush
Here’s two clips…
VIDEO
“Christian fundamentalists.” AKA - people that Hillary Barry doesn’t agree with so doesn’t like. In fact, I bet Hillary can’t even define what she means by Christian fundamentalists. It’s likely people who believe in natural marriage one man one woman, that you’re born male or female and you can’t choose your sex, and that men can’t get pregnant.
And in fact, if you look at some of the online commentary, there’s a huge amount from people who are just parents. educators or who don’t agree with drag queens being role modelled before children. But let’s not let the facts get in the way of the narrative. But this is what the theme of the story is. Not the reason for the opposition, but an attack on Christians.
It’s so amusing that Jeremy the presenter can say “Willy Smack 'n Tush” with a straight face. That’s irrelevant – it’s the haters hating.
And then it’s the infomercial. Puff piece. Not balanced reporting with searching questions and contrary views presented. Nope – this was a paid advertisement for drag queens. Our state broadcaster loves them.
It’s pretty blatant, isn’t it.
And none more blatant than the New Zealand Herald in September last year. In a specifically child focused section of the newspaper, they featured a 7-year-old child in stilettos pushing the transgender for children ideology along with some twerking.
Have a watch
Weird to wear a dress and high heels and twerk and pout – with makeup? Wonder why.
By the way, it was funded by NZ On Air – so you helped fund it!
The good news is that the outcry against the clip was obviously so strong that the video has been removed. And rightly so. It should never have been created in the first place.
Nobody should be surprised at all of this.
As I’ve been saying since 2022, the whole drag queen agenda is the latest weapon in the hyper-sexualised and gender culture wars to be used against children
Let’s be clear. Drag queens are an adult expression of LGBT communities. Even they admit that. Strip dancing, sexuality, cross dressing, sexualised content, adult entertainment. If it’s targeted at adults, so be it.
Just to remind you, according to Wikipedia
A drag queen is a person, usually male, who uses drag clothing and makeup to imitate and often exaggerate female gender signifiers and gender roles for entertainment purposes. In modern times, drag queens are associated with gay men and gay culture, but people of other genders and sexual identities also perform as drag queens… Drag shows frequently include lip-syncing, live singing, and dancing. They occur at events like gay pride parades, carnivals and drag pageants and in venues such as cabarets and nightclubs.
According to Brittanica:
Historically, gay men in the United States expressed prejudice against drag queens for appearing "too gay" or for giving gays a “bad name.” Yet, it is widely accepted that gay and lesbian social movements in the United States can be traced to the night of June 28, 1969, when the Stonewall riots in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan began as a group of drag queens actively resisted arrest. Drag queens at Stonewall in 1969 are credited with being on the front lines fighting for gay and lesbian liberation.
But now it’s being deliberately targeted at children. The evidence is overwhelming.
If parents stop taking their kids to drag queen events, there won’t be anyone in attendance.
If nobody goes, maybe they’ll stop hosting them.
But at least keep your eyes wide open to what the purpose of all of this is. It’s a way to promote and normalise extreme sexuality and gender ideology. And it’s being targeted at your children and grandchildren. It’s time to push back and say – no thanks.
And it’s time to tell the Government and politicians – stop funding it. We have enough sexualisation in society.
