Boycotting 'pride' is okay - for some
When can you opt out of the celebration of LGBT genders & sexualities and not have to wear and virtue-signal with special armbands? The answer depends on an important question - which god.
You’ve probably heard of the Pride armband. It’s when a sporting body decides to focus not on sport but on the sexuality and gender of every person on the planet – and declares that every sporting person must align with the views and beliefs and agenda of the LGBT doctrine – the new cultural religion that all must bow down to.
But what happens if a player mans up – in the figurative sense of course because we wouldn’t want to be too binary or biological – and says “stuff it – I’m not wearing the armband.”
Well, it depends not on what you believe, but what you based those beliefs on, apparently.
Back in 2017 Israel Folau became public enemy #1 to the cultural elite. He dared to oppose same-sex marriage. How dare he.
And then in response to some baiting and a question by an activist on Israel’s personal Instagram account, Israel shared his personal beliefs and a number of Scripture verses – including this image.
And all hell broke loose. Literally – as we know.
The drunks, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters carried on their day, but one category – that second one down – really went to town.
Ironically, during the euthanasia debate, a Muslim leader said that people would go to hell – but that only got this one report in the media – and the Muslim leader still has his job and career.
And theologian Raelene Castle - who is now butchering the Sports NZ policy around dudes playing in womens sports – was the then head of Australian rugby. She was asked – well, what parts of the bible can someone like Israel or any other Christian playing sport quote?
Well, that’s easy. Just the good bits.
Then in 2022 - Seven players from the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles rugby league team announced their intent to boycott the game against Sydney City Roosters after the club revealed they would be playing in a special rainbow-decorated jersey to support LGBTQI pride.
And they were roasted by the media
How dare they
But interestingly, Sonny Bill Williams was pardoned by the Blues Franchise from having to wear the BNZ logo because of religious Muslim convictions. Important word there – Muslim.
And Cricket Australia let Australia cricketer Fawad Ahmed avoid rearing the logo of a beer sponsor because of religious Muslim convictions. Important word there – Muslim.
No media furore and wall to wall coverage of critiquing and slamming the so-called bigotry and hate. Just love and understanding.
Starting to get the picture. It’s not necessarily what you believe. It’s why you believe it. Islam good. Christianity and Bible principles bad.
You may be saying – but that’s banks and beer. Not the hallowed ground of sex & gender.
Have you heard of Idrissa Gueye. Probably not if you’re not a football fan. Paris St-Germain's Idrissa Gueye refused to play in a match to avoid wearing a rainbow symbol in support of LGBTQ+ rights. The French football federation weren’t too pleased – but there was no media furore – and Idrissa currently plays for Everton in the Premier League.
Why wouldn’t he wear the arm band? Because of his religious Muslim convictions. Important word there – Muslim.
And have you heard of Haneen Zreika. No neither have I. Zreika became the first Islamic footballer to play in the AFLW after making her debut in 2019. In 2022 Greater Western Sydney forward Haneen Zreika missed the women’s AFL (Aussie rules) match against Hawthorn to avoid wearing the team’s pride jumper on religious grounds. It was the second-consecutive season that she’ll miss the AFLW Pride round. A repeat offender! No
Why wouldn’t she wear the arm band? Because of her religious Muslim convictions. Important word there – Muslim.
She wrote in a statement “As the first Australian Muslim woman in the AFLW, I have a responsibility to represent my faith and my community,”
In a Disney+ documentary on the Women’s Aussie Rules league Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW, she said:
“I didn’t want to make a big deal of it, until the AFL rejected me from wearing a normal jersey. That was a shock to me. I love what the AFL do and the way they include everyone, but you can’t have a round where you include people but exclude someone that it impacts their faith.”
Boom.
But she’s Muslim – so they can include that in the Disney+ documentary eh
It’s not necessarily what you believe. It’s why you believe it. Islam good.
Which all leads me to the most recent example just before the end of last year.
According to ESPN
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi wrote "Jesus loves you" on his rainbow-coloured captain's armband against Ipswich Town on Tuesday despite a reminder from England's Football Association (FA) over religious messages.
The rainbow-coloured armbands, which feature the branding of Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign in support of the LGBTQ+ community, were issued to all 20 Premier League clubs ahead of last weekend's matches.
ESPN revealed earlier on Tuesday that Guéhi could have been being charged by the FA when he wrote "I love Jesus" on his rainbow armband for Palace's Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Classic. So he wrote “I love Jesus” on his first one – but still wore the woke armband, and then when reprimanded, changed it to “Jesus loves you” – but still wore the armband.
Here’s the best bit.
Instead, the FA reminded Palace and Guéhi about their responsibilities that the appearance of a religious message on any item of clothing is prohibited as stated in Rule A4 of the FA's kit and advertising regulations.
Ah – which religious message are we talking about? Worshipping the cult of LGBT – the new cultural religion.
Guehi told Sky Sports. 'I think the message was pretty clear to be honest. It was a message of love and truth as well, and a message of inclusivity so I think it speaks for itself.'
So Guehi was noticeably put on notice.
But then the ESPN article continues – and they print this with a straight face
Ipswich midfielder Sam Morsy, who is a practicing Muslim, was the only captain to refuse to wear the armband last weekend.
So he didn’t graffiti the armband but still wear it. He didn’t even put it near his arm!! And he did this for two games!
He again wore the usual black version for the clash with Palace on Tuesday. The FA considers Morsy's decision to be a matter for the club and the individual and does not contravene any kit regulations.
Anybody note the inconsistency here. The one who didn’t wear the armband got a wink and a nod. The one who did wear it but put the name “Jesus” on it was severely reprimanded.
Did you note that Sam Morsy is Muslim?
Ipswich even put out a lovely statement in support of bigotry and homophobia from Muslims
VIDEO
And just one more example of Christians not wearing rainbow arm bands and getting in heaps of trouble:
Oh wait sorry – it’s the Muslims again. This should go ok then.
Mazraoui, who is a devout Muslim, told his colleagues that he would not be wearing the jacket and cited his religious faith as his reasoning. United decided that no player would wear the tracksuit, so Mazraoui would not be singled out publicly - with the decision reportedly just taken hours before kick-off on Sunday.
Lovely.
If you haven’t got the message yet, here it is.
Your views as a Christian are unacceptable – not necessarily because of those views (because lots of other people from various backgrounds and faiths hold those same views).
They’re unacceptable because of the source of those views.
The Bible.
But if they’re Truth – which they are – then that’s all that matters eh.
Scriptural Truth is far more important than any cultural religion or cult.
PRIDE: Pedo Rights Installers Disgusting Everyone.
I want no truck with anyone of the muslim desert death cult either, however 'moderate'. They hate women and marry little girls to old men and have 'dancing boys'. No thanks.
We're coming up to one of the most important remembrance days for Christians soon. Everyone's happy to eat the buns/eggs bla bla enjoy the four days in a row but to openly proclaim joy at celebrating an important event if you're Christian is frowned on/despised. Stuff that. Enjoy and proclaim your faith. Free speech still exists (for now). Bless you.
Thanks Bob.
